2008 Hairstyles The Pixie Cut

The pixie, a hairstyle characterized by its very short length and layering along the neckline, typically with longer layers extending towards the nape of the neck, is making a comeback in 2008.

Many celebs have been seen sporting this style recently, including Sharon Stone, leading fashion experts to wonder how many other celebrities will be following her lead in the New Year.

Short hair styles are low maintenance and require little to now styling, depending on the cut. Some women find that a little pomade and leave in gloss are all that they really need while others, with longer or more elaborate versions of the basic pixie cut find that a medium hold gel is the way to go.

The best face shape to compliment this 2008 hairstyle is an oval, since this type of cut can make round and square faces appear chubby. In terms of hair types, pixie cuts work best for medium textured straight hair, not too thick and not too thin. Pixies also work well for hair that is naturally wavy, since it can create an interesting texture and a natural movement while still lying close to the scalp in true pixie fashion.
