How To Tell Your Spouse You Are Pregnant

By: rodrigo rehn

Pregnancy is one of those things that a lot of people are really excited about and other people are terrified by. As a woman, when you find out your pregnant you may experience a wide variety of emotions and the best thing you can do with these emotions is to tell your spouse.

Whether the pregnancy was planned or not, sharing the news as well as the emotions can be very helpful. Pregnancy is a big deal and this is news that is meant to be shared, especially with the father of the child!

If you were trying to get pregnant you should make telling your spouse that you are pregnant as special as possible. A lot of women find that simply wrapping the pregnancy test in gift wrap and presenting it to their spouse is a great way to share the news. This way, they are totally taken off guard and surprised by the news!

Another fun way to tell your spouse is to insist that they buy a couple of baby items. When they ask you why you need to buy the items, tell them it is because you will have a baby in the house in nine months. You will see the shock and surprise and then the excitement register on their face and it will make telling them about the baby a lot of fun. You can think of a lot of fun ways to tell your spouse like this, so just think about fun ways in which you can surprise your spouse and run with it! Let this be something that you will both remember fondly.

If you were not planning to get pregnant you may need to be a bit more relaxed about telling your spouse, especially if you are not sure how they are going to respond. Instead, make some time where you can give your spouse some undivided attention and they can do the same. Let them know that it came as a surprise to you too, but you are now pregnant. When you share the news gently it will give them a moment to digest the information before they react emotionally.

Even after you tell your spouse about the pregnancy you both may have different emotions about it. The reason for this is that knowing that you are bringing a new life into the world can be very overwhelming. You may go from being elated to worried that you cannot possibly do a satisfactory job raising a child.

This is where teaming up with your spouse is very important, because chances are you will not be feeling the same emotion at the same time, which will allow you to balance out one another until you get to the point where you simply feel excited!
