In other words there must be a lot of people doing searches on the topic of your blog otherwise your blog will not get much traffic. It is best to pick a niche that you also have an interest in as this will make it a lot easier to add good content on your blog. If you do have your own site then you can use Wordpress to easily create a blog on your own domain.

When choosing a domain name for your blog try to pick something that is keyword rich as this will help when it comes to better search engine rankings. Also when choosing a niche make sure to select one that has a lot to write about so you will not run out of topics on which to make blog posts about. If you can use a unique template for your blog then that is ideal but even a basic template that is being used by many people can still work well.

Now you need to start making posts on your blog. Resist the temptation to use an automated poster but instead focus on learning about your niche as much as possible and then making genuinely unique and useful posts. Remember that you want your blog to do well in the search engines long term so keeping your content unique and useful is important. After making your first post be sure to ping your blog using a free tool like Pingomatic. Also submit your blog to as many free directories as possible.

In addition write an article on the topic of your blog and submit that to as many article directories as you can. This will help to increase the web presence of your blog and will bring many one way links which will help with improving search engine rankings. Try to submit one new article a week to as many article directories as possible or you can use an article directory submission service to save you time.

Make sure to add some Google adsense to your blog especially on the part above the fold. This is the area of your site that is seen without scrolling down when the page loads and try to center the ads and blend them in as much as possible with the rest of your site. Also search for relevant affiliate programs at places like Clickbank and Commission Junction. Use text links and banners to affiliate programs to the side and bottom of your blog.

It is important to update your blog regularly at least once a week or even once a day if you have the time as this will keep people interested in your blog and will create more repeat visitors. As the level of content grows on your blog over time you will find that your blog will receive more traffic from the search engines as long as you continue to add great content and continue to send out articles. Make sure you are using the power of blogs to help you to make more money from the internet.
