No! Not all Hot Tubs Are the Same

When people just state that a hot tub is a hot tub and they are all the same, I get really frustrated because they are not all the same and now I will show you why. Hot tubs are a bit like cars, would you prefer and old banger or a brand new top of the range vehicle? I definitely know which one I would decide.

Most of the hot tubs especially cheap imports from the east of the world are created using cheap methods, from people that probably have no expertise in the trade and are just following regular instructions from there team managers. We have seen this a lot lately in the news and such where companies are choosing money over quality and outsourcing a lot of creations to poorer countries, but the result end up being catastrophic.

A lot of these businesses are still using foam to create most of the tub; it is a much cheaper alternative as the manufacturer will be saving themselves a lot of money, because they will not be using the more reliable and expensive fibre glass for the shell to give it more strength. There are major disadvantages in this type of productions such as; the polyurethane foam over time will wither and it will eventually decrease its efficiency to insulate the valve. This over time can also cause leaks in the plumbing section of the tub, eventually causing blockages and breakage of the equipment in itself.

Lastly it will be impossible to service a cheap foam hot tub as everything from the plumbing and jet fittings will be hidden in the foam. You would have to totally dismantle the apparatus to access the tub, which will indefinitely end up causing you a fortune.

So keeping everything in mind my advice would be to not go for cheaper alternatives, as these will probably end up costing you a lot more in the long term. You should purchase from a westernised well know company where you know there manufacturers are fully regulated to meet precise construction parameters. You will and should get a full warranty with any new appliance you buy, so you can also rest assured that if something does go terribly wrong, then it will not cost you an arm and a leg to get it repaired. For many years of faultless performance choose wisely and only deal with fully trusted and certified resources.
