Today cars have achieved a very high status all over the world. Cars have become indispensable and almost everyone everywhere in the world owns a car. Car travel has become highly popular and most people prefer traveling by car to most destinations. The car market as a result has grown at a very rapid rate and newer models of cars are coming up almost everyday. When cars were first introduced to the world they were treated as mere modes of transport and a much faster mode of transport too. However in these modern times cars are becoming more advanced, certainly more stylish and manufacturers are looking to pack cars with as many technologically adept features as they can.

Today car designers are looking to add as many features in a car which will make it more modern and allow the user a better driving experience. One area which every designer in every car company is working on is to limit the emissions. A large number of cars on petrol and the combustion of petrol emit nauseous gases which are harmful to the earth. As a result designers are working on different ideas which would limit the emission of these gases.

These efforts have already borne fruit and a number of cars today have emission control systems. These emission control systems limit the emissions and also make the engine utilize the fuel in a more effective manner. The engines equipped with these emission control technologies have indeed made a difference and the emission levels of such engines are considerably on the lower side.

Safety features have also undergone wholesome modernization and the safety technologies employed in cars today are indeed some of the very best. Most modern cars come equipped with air bags which inflate on impact with another car or with a foreign object. However new systems and technologies which have been developed sense a mishap before it happens and start preparing the car and its occupants for the impact.

New technologies also help the driver keep a close check on the pressure in each wheel of the car and alarms sound if the wheel pressure drops below the permissible limit. Technologies like the Anti Braking System which prevents the wheels from locking in the instance of intense braking thereby adding substantially to the safety of the cars occupants is also seen in most modern cars. Computer technologies also help the driver analyze the best route and also advise the driver on switching between driving modes like the two wheel drive and the four wheel drive in view of negotiating different types of terrain in the most comfortable manner.

The interiors of most new cars have also been sufficiently changed and a lot of cutting edge technology has been incorporated into the interiors. Most modern cars today have inbuilt massagers in their seat and also the seat takes a form which is comfortable for the back of the driver. A lot of modern cars are coming with the latest CD and DVD players which allow the occupants of the car a variety of entertainment options.
