Weddings today seem to be increasing in price more and more every day. Wedding supply companies know that people will buy a product and they know that they can charge almost what price they want. The wedding industry is a billion dollar a year industry and wedding supply companies are jumping on board and are trying to make as much money as they can. It seem that affordable weddings are slightly unattainable, that is if you don look around and your research. There are a number of ways to keep the cost of your wedding low while making it look like it cost a million dollars. All it takes is a little time to do your research before you place your order for the things you need.

A must have at any wedding is a wedding cake. The price of a wedding cake will vary from cake to cake and from bakery to bakery. If you let it, the price of your cake can be extremely high as cake makers will entice you to spend a great deal of money by purchasing the large fancy cakes they make. However, a wedding cake does not have to large and elaborate to be nice and basic to serve its purpose. If you are looking to save money on your wedding you might consider making the cake yourself or you might simply order a chocolate or vanilla cake.

There is no need to get fancy with the flavour of the cake. An even cheaper option which has increased in popularity in recent years is the use of cupcakes instead of a multi layered cake. When you think about it, when the cake is cut each guest will be given a piece of cake that is the same size as or smaller than a cupcake so why not give each person a cupcake? There are some bakeries that will make cupcakes for your wedding at approximately a dollar a cupcake. Of course the price that you pay for this will depend on the number of people that you invite to your wedding.

Another expensive component to the wedding that people often overlook or forget about all together is the honeymoon. Honeymoon today are seen as being a romantic getaway for the new husband and wife and people are often spending a great of money to get away after the wedding. However for some people this is not an option after they have planned and paid for a wedding. Honeymoons however do not have to be expensive; not everyone has to fly down south to have a honeymoon.

Consider some simpler options such as going on a weeklong camping trip or maybe you would like to register for your honeymoon where your guests can give you a gift that will be used toward your honeymoon. For example, if you are travelling to a different country for your honeymoon you can ask guests to give you a gift such a gift card for a hotel or a particular restaurant that you can use while away. This will help reduce the cost of your honeymoon greatly.
