Was The Mold Thrown Away When You Were Made

By: Aydan Corkern

People are as individual and different as the fingerprints they have. We have always known this, but even so there have been some people throughout history that were so individual and unique that the mold, so to speak, was surely broken after they were made. What is it that can make some people so spectacular that no one like them has ever been found? What mold breaking people do we have living among us today?

Some of the famous people from our recent history that were extremely unique people were Albert Einstein, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, and Mahatma Ghandi and those are just a few that pop into the mind with just a thought. There are scores more that had some specific thing or ways about them that made them special and memorable. These people were great humanitarians in their assorted ways and most would say they did great good for the world as a whole. What would it be like for those of us who think of ourselves as just average folk to be remembered for such greatness?

When you actually think about it a little harder, there usually are things that each of us can do that makes us unique in some way even though we might not ever become famous for it. We might belong to a non profit charity that raises money for the poor or sick. We might be the star of our local ball team and help them win a championship. Maybe we are a central member of our family that seems to hold everyone together. Everyone is special for something.

People who suffer from low self esteem and self worth should take a closer look at themselves. They might not think they have anything great to offer to the world, but sometimes it is not how big something you have to offer is, but how much it is needed by someone else or even how much it can enhance your own life. You can make regular visits to a retirement home on Sunday afternoons and sing for the elderly and that will make you special to them. It might not seem like a big deal to the vast majority of people, but what matters is giving to others and making your own self feel good.

The point is that the mold is broken when anyone is made because we are all so different and important in our very own way. How we choose to live our life and those we touch with it will determine how many people remember us and for what when we are gone. If there is someone that has touched your life in some special way, let them know it. Just by recognizing their impact on you will make them feel like they are a mold breaker too.
